I doubt there is an official answer but...why the hell did the band only play one gig in the state of NH for all those years of touring? Baffling especially with a rabid east coast fan base. maybe not enough large venues? Even with that I'm sure they could have played Dartmouth more in the 70's early 80's.

Vermont included in that short list of Northern Places of beauty not oft visited. Why they fell in love with Rochester and Buffalo I will never know. Way out of the way, and butt fuggly ugly cities of despair and isolation paraded over in hockey rinks with mirth and celebration...

I thought I read somewhere that the Burlington VT area was their north eastern hideout/hangout when they were traveling. Something about Tom Azaria's (Tom Banjo from MOTM) farmhouse parties.

i might be wrong

I always wanted to know why they played in Billerica, MA in 1979. That always seemed odd to me.
At least Weir likes NH - he always seems to play at the Casino.

I wanna know, what do 2 fantastic Sugaree-openers have to do with your question? I wish I could make sense of this. How about explaining these 2 flukes? Both shows are in The Great White North. How could they possibly have not lost money? Both are highly praised shows.
